Everyone should be able to read the argument.

A design for how a country is governed has to be legible to the people it would govern. This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and to stay readable when the assumptions behind a screen do not hold.

What that means here

• Keyboard first. Every link, button, menu and form control can be reached and operated without a mouse, and a “skip to content” link lets you jump past the navigation.
• Readable contrast. Text meets or exceeds the AA contrast ratio against its background, in both the light pages and the navy sections.
• Real structure. Pages use proper headings, landmarks and lists, so screen readers can navigate them; images and the model diagram carry text descriptions.
• Respects your settings. The layout reflows to any screen width down to a phone, and motion is reduced automatically if your device asks for it.
• No traps. Nothing depends on colour alone, hover alone, or a pointer to work.

Where we know we can do better

Accessibility is never finished. The rulebook is long and dense by nature; we are steadily improving in-page navigation and plain-English summaries. If you hit something that does not work with your assistive technology, that is a bug we want to fix.
